AMA’s Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy Statement for Faculty
American Management Association International (“AMA”) is committed to the principle of equal employment opportunity and to providing our employees, contractors and attendees with work and classroom environments free from any type of discrimination or harassment.
It is AMA’s policy that any form of discrimination or harassment on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, national or ethnic origin, marital status, genetic disposition or carrier status, or any other basis prohibited by federal, state or local law will not be tolerated in the workplace or classroom. Included within this prohibition are unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct directed at a person because of a protected characteristic, and such conduct has the purpose or effect of substantially interfering with an individual’s work performance or creating an intimidating, hostile or offensive working or classroom environment.
AMA requires that contract Faculty comply with these standards. Furthermore, as AMA’s representative in the classroom, it is your responsibility to ensure that not only your behavior conforms to these standards, but also attendees in AMA’s classrooms comply with these standards. To this end, should you become aware of attendee behavior violating these standards and contributing to an intimidating, hostile or offensive classroom environment, you must immediately make the violator aware of AMA’s policy and ask that they cease such behavior. You should then report the incident to the Manager of Faculty and if located within an AMA center, to the Center Manager.
